Ayano Aishi is a yandere character from the video game series Yandere Simulator.
Background[]
She is obsessed with Taro / Taeko Yamada.
Born on March 31st, 2008,[1] as the 11th Aishi family member, Ayano's childhood was considered cold and empty. Although she was supposed to feel her hereditary condition less than the previous generation, it was documented by her great-great-grandmother (who extensively studied her)[2] that Ayano felt the condition acutely as one of her ancestors back in the 1800s.[3]
Likewise with the rest of her family, Ayano suffers from the Aishi Condition: a fictional variety of insanity.[4] She cannot feel most emotions, and any experiences are often unable to be appreciated due to a sense of something missing.[5] She cannot feel remorse, guilt, or empathy, but she can experience pity. As a child, Ayano murdered a cat to see if she could feel guilt or shame, which failed. Due to these circumstances, her father, Jokichi Yudasei, has attempted to help his emotionless daughter through visits to hospitals and numerous medical examinations. His efforts to help Ayano have resulted in the latter fabricating her feelings to appear "normal". She continued falsifying her true state of emotions with her peers and father, as she found it easier rather than face the inconvenience of bullying and mistreatment for being "strange",[6] and to prevent her father from continuing to worry about her.[7]
Her mother, Ryoba Aishi, who once suffered from the same condition that her daughter did,[6] began nurturing and guiding her daughter with lessons on getting away with murder, incorporating evidence disposal,[8] careful watching of potential witnesses, and minimal associates to avoid any liability.[9] The first part of her name, Aya (彩)—meaning "color"—was chosen by her father, who hoped his daughter would see the world differently from her maternal relatives, all of whom saw life as dark and empty until they found their Senpais.[10]
Ayano met Taro Yamada in the Akademi hallway and fell in love with him at sight, feeling a sense of completion she was searching for her entire life. Ayano's feeling of love was quickly replaced with anger, as she watched Taro walk by to talk to Osana Najimi, her first rival.[6]
Deredere Feats[]
- Although Ayano is normally emotionless, she feels like a normal and loving person around Taro.
- Whenever Ayano comes in close proximity to Taro, she is visibly seen blushing.
- Once Ayano gathers enough courage, she plans to confess to Taro underneath the cherry blossom tree.
- Ayano tries to imitate Taro's likes and interests to feel closer to him, such as eating his favorite food and making her signature color his favorite color.[11][12]
Yanderu Feats[]
- Ayano is obsessed with Taro and believes that she should have him because of how much color he brings into her world.
- She stalks taro.
- She's determined to make him hers, even if it means killing people or ruining others' lives.
- The player can write her as manipulative at worst or full-on murderous, depending on her actions and how she eliminates her rivals.
- Info-chan tells her that if she doesn't eliminate Amai, Taro will never belong to her. In response, she says that he belongs to her, but only Taro doesn't know it yet.
- (SNAP Mode) Ayano is capable of murdering Taro.

Azebiki has expressed an intense fascination with Ayano, who appears to be an "exception" to some of the "rules" of the Aishi Condition. For example, Ayano appears to suffer from the condition more acutely than any of her living relatives, which defies the belief that the condition lessens with each generation. Azebiki has examined Ayano thoroughly, and has described her from being "different from any other Aishi I have ever studied," but has never been able to articulate the reason why.

The first woman to be born with the Aishi Condition lived in the early 1800s. She was nearly emotionless, and was almost completely apathetic; more like a statue or a doll than a living being. However, with each new generation, the Aishi Condition weakens and becomes a lesser version of what it originally was. Each new generation of Aishi has a greater capacity to feel emotions and develop a personality. As the years pass, each new generation of Aishi is less like the original.
The one exception to this is Ayano, who is the first Aishi in centuries to experience the Aishi Condition almost as acutely as her ancestor from the 1800s. She does not express emotions or demonstrate a personality unless it's necessary to do so in order to "fit in" with the rest of society. Some of Ryoba's family members have theorized that this is because Ryoba waited so long to have children. However, that theory cannot possibly be correct, because there is a strong piece of counter-evidence: Ayano's cousin.
