Drake is the main antagonist of Don Bluth's eighth feature length animated film, The Pebble and the Penguin.
He is in lust with Marina.
Background[]
Drake first appears in the film spying on Hubie and Marina. He expresses his desire for Marina to be his wife and have the strongest, smartest, bravest, best looking children that will be just like him. Later, Drake cruelly trips Hubie when he got the pebble. He then tosses Hubie into the sea after he refuses to give him the pebble that was supposed to be for Marina. After the incident, Drake visits Marina, Pola, Priscilla, and Gwynne in his chambers. Believing Hubie was dead, Drake offers his own hand in mating to Marina, but Marina refuses, because she knows Hubie was still alive elsewhere. He warns Marina she has to choose a mate before the Full Moon Mating Ceremony, or she'll be banished.
After a few days has passed, Drake proposes to Marina again, but Marina rejects him once more in spite of his objections and insistence. Drake eventually kidnaps Marina on the night before the Full Moon Mating Ceremony, intending to take her to the ceremony by force to make her his wife. Hubie arrives on the scene just in time, having just evaded killer whales. Drake body slams Hubie into the spiky claw and wins the first round of the fight. With Hubie knocked out, Drake carries Marina through the stairway and places her at the bottom of the stairs of his base. Hubie has the second wind, thanks to his friends, faces him again, except Hubie wins the round and kicks Drake off the flight of stairs to his apparent death.
When Drake was thought to have been dead, he emerges from a a large chunk of a stair he lifted with Marina standing on it. Drake then launches the stair at Hubie and Rocko, with the intent to kill them. Unfortunately, Drake's choice to throw the stair at his enemies causes significant damage to his base that several slabs of stone began to break from the walls and the ceiling of his base. To add insult to injury, one of the stone pieces falls on Drake and ends up crushing him.
Yandere traits[]
Drake has a deep obsession for Marina. Despite that, he never truly loved Marina and didn't want her for her personality. He only wanted to marry Marina because of her beauty, hence making his feelings for her more of lust rather than love. When Drake learned that Marina prefers to love Hubie over him, he tossed Hubie into the sea in an attempt to get rid of him, just so he could have Marina for himself. Every night preceding the Full Moon Mating Ceremony, Drake proposes to Marina, proclaiming he wants her to be his mate. When Marina refuses to be his mate, Drake threatened her and went as far as to kidnapping her on the night before the Full Moon Mating Ceremony.
