Gaston is a character from Beauty and the Beast (1991 film), a Disney animated film.
He desires Belle.
Background[]
Not much is known about his background. He's implied to have grown up in the town that Belle and Maurice live in and has garnered a positive reputation with the townsfolk. In the 2017 remake, he mentioned that he served in a war
Yandere traits[]
Gaston has been infatuated with Belle for an unspecified amount of time. Despite being obviously shallow and planning to see other women behind Belle's back, Gaston intends to win over Belle. In some stage productions, he is more direct and forceful with his affections for Belle. He decided that he was going to marry her point prior to the movie's start. Anticipating a "yes", he set everything up for the wedding outside of Belle's cottage. When Belle turned down his proposal, he became angry and determined to marry her no matter what. He proves himself to be manipulative as he intended to have Maurice committed unless Belle agreed to marry him. In the 2017 remake, he knocked out Maurice and tried to leave him in the forest for refusing to bless Gaston as his future son-in-law. He also hoped that Belle would turn to him with her father gone, securing his marriage to her. When he learned that Belle was with someone else, he became angry and roused up the town to kill the Beast for being the object of Belle's affections.
